There are many aspects to be considered in determining the strength of a Graha (planet), but in general one should observe the Dasha in which the individual is and the following factors:
First it is necessary to evaluate in which Rashi (sign) that planet is, if it is in a friendly, enemy, neutral sign or if it is debilitated, in domicile or Moolatricone.
Second it is necessary to evaluate the directional strength of the planet. Mercury and Jupiter find directional strength in the ascendant, Moon and Venus find directional strength in the fourth house. Saturn finds directional strength in the seventh house. Sun and Mars find directional strength in the tenth house.
Third, it is necessary to evaluate the amount of points obtained in the Sarvashtakvarga of the house where the planet is and to evaluate the Kakshaya Slot of the planet being in transit, the planets give good results when they have six, seven or eight points.
Finally it is necessary to use these same parameters to evaluate the positioning of that planet in the divisional charts, mainly and starting with the D9 Navamsha.
