The total duration of yogini dasha is 36 years and it repeats itself after every 36 years unlike Vimshottari which is of 120 years. The 8 eight yogini dashas along with their planetary lords are:
1. Mangla- Moon
2. Pingla – Sun
3. Dhanya – Jupiter
4. Bhramari – Mars
5. Bhadrika -Mercury
6. Ulka – Saturn
7. Siddha – Venus
8. Sankata – Rahu
The dasha period of Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Venus, and Rahu are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 years respectively.
Adding 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8 = 36 years and hence, the total duration of Yogini dasha cycle is 36 years.

The seven karakas are as followed
1. Atmakaraka (Planets with highest degree) 1st house themes
2. Amatyakaraka (Planets with second highest degree) 2nd/8th house theme
3. Bhatarikaraka (Planets with third highest degree) 3rd and 9th house theme
4. Matrikaraka (Planets with fourth highest degree) 4th and 10th house theme
5. Putrakarraka (Planets with fifth highest degree) 5th and 11th house theme
6. GhatniKaraka (Planets with sixth highest degree) 6th and 12th house theme
7. Darakaraka (Planets with seventh highest degree) 7th house theme
8. The other astrologer also use “Pitri-karaka”

In the Jaimini system instead of planets we have period and sub-period of rashis ruling an individual’s life, which are called as chara dashas. There are aspects of rashis in Jaimini system, similar to planetary aspects in Parashari system.
Determine the lagna and the chara dasha starts from that particular ascendant sign. If the lagna is (Aquarius, Pisces, Aries) and (Leo, Virgo, Libra) then the order of main chara dashas is direct else is indirect for the other 6 lagnas.Sub periods are direct for: Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Leo, Virgo, Libra
Sub periods are indirect for: Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn. This is similar to the main chara dasha period. As we have 12 rashis so we have 12 main chara dashas operating and thereafter the dasha
repeats, similar to Vimshottari after 120 years.
